On the 8th May, due to the current restrictions in place from the COVID-19 outbreak, William Inglis & Son conducted their second Virtual Auction in recent weeks. This time it was to offer just over 80 select broodmares and broodmare prospects at the Chairman’s Sale. Glenesk Thoroughbreds were well represented with nearly 15% of the catalogue (11 lots). On sale night we were able to sell 10 of the 11 mares, with a top price of $800,000 for the Group 2 winner/Group 1 placed NOIRE (by FOXWEDGE) (pictured), purchased by leading Japanese breeder Katsumi Yoshida. The next morning we were able to complete the sale of the Group 3 winner THINK BLEUE (by SO YOU THINK) to Newgate Farm for $340,000, hence, bringing our clearance rate to 100%, against the sale’s overall clearance rate of 64%. The sale of THINK BLEUE increased our sale aggregate to $3.2 million, making Glenesk Thoroughbreds the leading Consignor. To read more on the sale please click here.
